Race Report by Paul Parks
This past weekend I traveled to Surrey BC for the Conquer the Carpet event hosted by Outlaw RC. The layout was challenging and quick, the surface was grey ozite carpet with a combination of sweepers and 180’s I opted to run the shorter chassis on my XB2, this put more grip to the rear without effecting the front end. After this the only change was to go to the taller shock towers as grip levels came up. My XB4 was spot on right from the first laps and required no adjustments other than reducing the amount of traction compound to the front tires.

Qualifying went very well with me qualifying 4th in 17.5 2wd and 2nd in 13.5 4wd. A1 saw me finish 2nd in 2wd and 3rd in 4wd, A2 saw mixed results, an unlucky situation while running 2nd resulted in a DNF for 4wd and a 4th in 2wd. A3 I was still in a good position for podium finishes in both classes, finishing 3rd in 4wd would secure 3rd overall for 13.5 4wd and finishing 4th in 2wd would see me tied for 3rd overall. I would lose the tie breaker by .579 seconds.

13,5T 4WD Buggy Results
1. Thomas Reynolds
2. Frank Bortolazzo – XRAY XB4
3. Paul Parks – XRAY XB4

The Xray cars were fantastic all weekend long, responded very well to any changes I made during Friday practice. Racing was very tight, with a lot of comments on how fractions of a second could see a driver loose positions. Congratulations to my XRAY Teammates; Korgae Scales, Frank Bortolazzo, Blake Bell and Rob Sorjonen and their podium results at this event. XRAY cars were on the Podium for 5 out of 7 major classes.
