Race Report by Daniel Blalock
The California based XRAY Team drivers attended the SoCal Nitro Shootout hosted at the Pro-Line Test Track. Although there was practice available on Friday for the brand new layout, the majority of the team only practiced Saturday morning before Qualifiers started. The unique format for this event meant that every round of heads up, grid starting, qualifying would count towards a combined total of laps & times for all three rounds.

I was running Open Nitro Buggy and Open Nitro Truck classes for the weekend. First qualifiers went well; 6th in Truck, 11th in Buggy. Second qualifiers; 9th in Truck, 10th in Buggy. Third qualifier was cut down to 5 minutes due to the long day, but finished with average pace again; 10th in truck, 15th in Buggy

I struggled to get a feel of the blind double coming towards the driver stand and at an angle, so I ended up 8th overall for both Buggy and Truck. With all 3 rounds counting, consistency was key to making the mains.

The Open Buggy Main would be my best run, 30 minute main event. I quickly moved up the ladder to the 5th spot, where a pack of us would battle for the top 5. The top 2 would pull away from the pack, so I began pacing for the podium. Mid way in I would grab 3rd spot, and just shortly before the end, 2nd place would pop a steering link out of place to put me in 2nd place for the podium finish!

Race Report by Kyle Turner
I had a good time this weekend at the SoCal Shootout at the Pro-line headquarters, probably one of the best layouts I've driven on in a while. My XB8 nitro buggy was very good the whole weekend heading into the main event behind Kyosho drivers Mason Eppley and Cj Jelin.

For the Ebuggy class, I also had good qualifying taking the TQ and having a good car going into the main. My car wasn't set correctly for the main event and I ran tires that should have been a different compound. After having a good battle with Cj Jelin throughout the main, I ended up making a couple mistakes giving me second place overall in Ebuggy.

Having good qualifying and starting 3rd on the grid in nitro buggy, I faced tough luck despite my car feeling great and being one of the fastest on the track.

Thank you to all my sponsors for making this hobby possible for me.
