Race Report by Pierre Delorme
Last weekend, the 4th round of French Nationals took place in Marmagne near Bourges in the center of France. A good participation as each time this season with almost 90 drivers in TC Modified, TC Stock and Formula One.

The race started on Friday afternoon with cold and cloudy conditions, as we knew that the weather of the following day would be very hot, it was hard to work on the setup and I personally focused on driving and motor/ESC setting on this difficult but amazing track!

In Saturday morning, the track was a little wet but it dried up for my group and I could have a good run. Then the two reseedings helped me to perfectly setup my XRAY T4’19 with the ARS system in order to generate the higher traction by keeping good steering. The tire strategy was a big issue as the controlled tires quality has changed and the tires couldn’t last the whole race, that’s why in Q1 I stopped after a mistake which costed me too much time to take the TQ. In Q2 & Q3 I focused more and made two clean runs with a good gap over the field. In Q4 I chose to test my second set of tires but the balance of the car changed and the car oversteered so my strategy was to race only with my first set.

On Saturday we had a practice and Q5 and then the 3 finals. In Q5 I found a well balanced car and made another TQ. My tires were 3 runs old and started to lost a bit in performance but with the ARS I run with very low toe-in and it allows me to have low steering angle and at the end the tire wear is greatly reduced. So I had an advantage over the other racers using ‶classic※ setups. This allowed me to race A1 and A2 with the same set and to grab the victory! My car was way faster than others as my tires were fresher and my setup perfect for the conditions!

This victory gave me my 4th French Champion title after only 4 rounds out of 5!

I would like to thanks my sponsors and the people who believe in me, without you I wouldn’t be there!

Congratulations to Jeremy Limoges who is also F1 French Champion this year! The race for the title in modified is still open and Alex Laurent has good chances to grab it!
