Race Report by Ty Tessmann
This past weekend was the JConcepts INS race at Hobby Action in Chandler, AZ. The temperature outside was 45 degrees celsius but luckily we were racing inside in the air conditioning.

The track was open the Saturday before for the locals to break the track in, and then we had practice on Thursday and on Friday morning and afternoon with a seeding round in the evening. I seeded 4th in both mod 2wd and mod 4wd.

For some reason the dirt on this track is always evolving, it seems that everytime you get on the track it is a little bit different than the time before, so it is much more challenging than most indoor tracks.

Saturday was 3 rounds of qualifying. The first round of 4wd was rough for me with a few mistakes it would be my throw out round. First round of 2wd went a lot better and I was able to take the TQ. Second round of 4wd we made some changes to the car and it was better and ran a clean run but just didn't have enough speed and only managed 5th for the round. Second round of 2wd I had a good battle for the lead but in the end I would get 2nd for the round. Third round of 4wd I had a faster run, I had 1 mistake but would end up 4th for the round and would have me starting 5th on the grid for the triple A mains. Third round of 2wd we made some changes and my car was better but I ended up pushing too hard and made a couple of mistakes but still managed 2nd for the round which would give me the overall TQ.

Sunday was main day. 2wd A1, everything was going smooth until lap 2 when my wheel fell off due to a stripped wheel nut which has never happened to me before, it was probably by fault as I should have changed them since they had been on my car for awhile.
2wd A2, everything was going well until the 2nd last lap when I clipped the curb and rolled my car and allowed 2nd place car to get by to take the win and I would have to settle for 2nd.
2wd A3, I made some changes to my car which made my car better and I was able to take the win to take 2nd place overall.

In 4wd A1 my car was a little bit hard to drive with the changing track conditions but I was able to get through and battle for the lead but would end up 2nd. 4wd A2 was a bit more difficult and would make a couple of mistakes trying to make my way to the front and would only end up 5th. 4wd A3, having still a shot at the overall win I knew I had to get to the front to have a chance, right off the start I had some issues with the car in front of me, even though I didn't feel it was my fault I pulled over and let him by, and we raced on for a few laps but he ended up getting out of shape and collected me but I was able to get by and finally move forward from there and ended up 3rd in that main which would give me 3rd overall.
