The 2019 GRC International RC Car Championship was held at GRC Circuit in South Korea, with many drivers from Singapore, Hong Kong, China and Japan in attendance to compete with the super fast locals, as well as Marc Rheinard from Germany.
In the Modified class, XRAY was represented by myself, Marco Ma and Gary Huang from China. My prototype T4â™20 was absolutely perfect, but during practice it was clear that local favourite EC Kim had been practicing hard for the event and was the man to beat. The real race was for second between myself, Marc, Nicholas Lee and local driver Jang Donguk. I qualified third and managed to move up to second spot overall after some really close finals, finishing 2nd in A1 and winning A3. Gary finished where he qualified in 8th position, and Marco took the â BQâ™ and win in the B-Main.

Local drivers Yang E-Jun and Lim Il Kuyn â 1Kâ™ led the XRAY charge in the Superstock class. Yang sealed the TQ on Saturday but couldnâ™t hold the position after some close battles and had to settle for second overall. 1K had a rough qualifying and started in 5th for the finals, but managed to have some good runs in the finals to get the final spot on the podium.
