Race Report by Florian Joos
During the last weekend I participated at the Longwy Winter Series in Longwy, France. The club, which is situated in the northern part of France always makes a great flowing carpet track. The club is always very successful as the races always attracts more than 100 drivers. The biggest class was the 13.5 Superstock class with over 50 entries. On Saturday we had open timed practice. I immediately noticed that my cars really worked well.

The qualifications went very well, in Stock I got P2. My teammate Leo Arnold was running very strong and on a TQ run in Q3 when he had a problem with a back marker and had to settle for P4 overall while I managed to have P2.

In the stock final, we increased our diff from a 7k to a 10k in order to get some more corner speed. My car was however a bit tricky to drive and I had to drive hard to maintain my P2 spot, in which I succeeded. In A2 we switched our diff back to a 7k and my car was really on rails. I managed to put the leader under pressure, but after 4 minutes my power faded. In the meantime, Leo managed to make a great pass on Alexander Becker for third. In the penultimate lap, my power was really down and I had no more top speed and this caught Leo by surprise as he crashed into me. Leo sportingly waited, but he shouldn’t have done so, and I finished P3 and Leo P4. After the final, we noticed that our fan was blocked by debris and this caused the motor to overheat. I had to change to an older spec motor which gave less power. Tobias Vogel, the pace sitter, decided not to run, so I had a really hard time defending against the other cars. Thanks to the great road holding of my T4 20 I kept in front and won A3. I took an overall P2 spot.
