Race Report by Max Gotzl
The opening round of Euro Offroad Series was held last weekend in Daun, Germany. The event saw the record entries of about 450 cars, which promised huge competition, as well as some problems with the time schedule and late night racing.

We started with 2wd portion of the race, which included the 2wd modified and stock, and the truck stock class. I didn’t do as well as I wanted to in the practice, finishing 16th, but Bruno Coelho was able to take 4th place on the counting of 3 consecutive laps, followed by another XB2 of Martin Bayer in 10th. Bruno and Martin were able to put their cars on the A main final grid on the 5th and 6th position. My qualifying didn’t go by plan as well and I only managed to take the 8th spot in the B main.

In the 2wd stock class Felix Stahmer was able to put his XB2 on the A main grid on 3rd place, Tim Kunz in 5th, Pawel Ntkovca 7th, Simon Stegmeier and Juraj Hudy 9th and 10th respectively.

Martin and Bruno fought really hard in the triple main finals and Bruno took the overall 3rd place, followed by Martin in 5th! I finished overall 5th in the B main, just behind my teammate Daniel Kobbevik, who was 4th.

The 4wd portion of the race was looking much better for me, I seeded into the best group on position 8, Martin Bayer was 2nd and Bruno 3rd. The qualifying was very close, Bruno was able to take the overall 4th place after taking two 2nd places, Martin put himself on 8th place, just behind Daniel Kobbevik, who was 7th and Bartosz zalewski took the 9th. I again didn’t place my car on the A main grid, unfortunately, but it was much closer than in 2wd, and after taking a 6th and 10th in qualifying, I was starting 2nd in the B main.

In 4wd stock Simon Stegmeier put his XB4 2nd on the grid, followed by Carsten Neudeck in 5th, Juraj Hudy in 9th and Tim Kunz 10th.

In the Truck class I was able to place my XT2 2nd on the grid, followed by the XT2s of Francois Guerbois in 6th, Florian Schmid in 7th and Sophie MĂĽller in 9th.

Bruno was able to take the win in A2 and a 2nd place in A1, which meant he would fight with Michal Orlowski for the overall win. Unfortunately Michal was able to win, Bruno finished overall on 2nd place! Martin took the 6th place, Daniel 8th and Bartosz 10th. I tried to get in the front in my B main, unfortunately during my every pass I was pushed out, so fell down to 4th, and I didn’t finish B2, as I was pushed from behind, which broke my car, overall finishing on the 17th place...

I had bad A1 with the truck, and after some mistakes I took the 3rd place, didn’t finish the A2 because of some tough luck, so had to fight for the 2nd place in A3. I was leading the whole race, unfortunately I and the 2nd place had a touch in the last lap and I came with the worst from that. So I took overall 3rd place, Florian was 5th, Sophie 6th and Francois 10th.

XRAY was the most used brand in the 2wd stock class, 4wd stock and modified, as well as the Truck modi! Overall it was a success for the team Xray, but we are always coming for more, so we all will try to do even better next time at the 2nd round of EOS in the Hudy Arena!
