Well we finally we got there and Round 3 is in the books.
Sunday morning greeted us with a very overcast day and a high chance of rain later in the afternoon. However, we fought on and apart from a few light rain drops in the afternoon we completed the whole meeting as planned.

Credit to the crew at Castle Hill On Road club for their super smooth running of this event. With 2 rounds of controlled practice in the morning followed by 3 qualifiers and 3 mains is was a massive task (that they performed without flaw).
Now to the racing.
This was some of the closest (and clean) racing I've seen for a long time and proof that a controlled motor and Tyre class brings out the best in all.

Modified Class
The pace of these cars on the back straight at Whalan has to be seen to be believed. The control these guys showed explains why they are the premier electric class. With State and National champions running it was going to be close at the top. In the wash up it was Ari Bakla that took the first 2 finals after some close racing with Simon Nicholson. John Puse, Steven Cornell and Michael Stone were all fighting for that final podium position. With some impressive driving it was John Puse that claimed a well-deserved 3rd place.

Modified results:
1. Ari Bakla - XRAY T4
2. Simon Nicholson
3. John Puse

13.5 Stock Class
The racing at the pointy end of the field was a standout. Pete Wong (TQ) and Brayden Stanley were in a class of their own. All 3 finals were a battle of who would crack. For most of the 3 finals there was merely car lengths between these two. Young Brayden showed his class and took 2 of the 3 mains for an outright win. The minor podium spot was a battle between Damien Zarb, Nathan Tanti, Christian Silva and Adam Clark. On this occasion Damien Zarb took the final step on the podium.
