The first (and only) 2020 Greek Championship Race for 2wd and 4wd buggies took place in FRT, Athens in the end of June. A lot of participants came after a tough Covid lockdown. The weather was sunny and hot making it difficult to select the right set-up for the car.
In the 2wd class, I was able to take pole position after tough fights with my competitors including Greek legend Konstatinos Agrafiotis. In the finals, I led from tone to tone to win the first 2 legs and win my first Greek Championship. In 4wd class, me and multi-time Greek champion Tasos Paparegas were fighting hard for pole position which eventually I won on the tie-breaker. In the first leg, I made a mistake at the end of the run and finished 2nd behind Paparegas. In leg 2 and leg 3 we were nose to tail for the whole five-minute run putting on a show, but in the end, I was able to take wins in both legs thus winning the 4wd Greek Championship and becoming the youngest 2wd and 4wd Greek Champion.
I am very happy and proud about this result but I will keep practicing, improving and learning to become a better driver and mechanic as there are many things to get better on. See you on the track!
