The past weekend the first round of the Austrian Nitro Championship took place at the fast and technical MRC-Fruhwirt race track.

After the practice sessions it looked good for Christoph Rohrmoser placing his NT1 on top of the table. In the qualifying Christoph wasn't be able to find the right setup for the tricky grip conditions and found himself on third position after the qualifying. For the main final everyone worked out different tire strategies due the high tire wear. Christoph was be able to take the lead in front of Michal Abrahamek after few laps and didn't give it up until the end of the race. The tire strategy worked out well for Christoph and so it was the victory in the first race of the national championship for him.

1/8 Report by Tobias Sutrich and Nejc Mihelic
In scale 1/8 we have seen an amazing performace of the RX platform as from the free practice we have seen Xray drivers on top with tight battles between Sascha Klug (Xray), Tobias Sutrich (Xray), Nejc Mihelic (Xray) and Leonardo Varga as the only non Xray among the top 4.
After qualification it was Sascha Klug (Xray) who was able to get to the top position but with knowing that every driver had to participate in the lower finals (half final, quarter final, etc.) which is a new rule for this year's edition of Austrian nationals.
After lower finals, it was Tobias Sutrich (Xray) who secured the pole position in A-main final, with Mihelic (Xray) on number two and Ljubischa Paunovic in third spot. Klug (Xray) and Bjan Miklozic (Xray) managed to join the main finals despite some issues.
In the A-main final we have seen close battles especially between Nejc and Tobias, however it was Nejc Mihelic (Xray) who finished the 45 minute final as 1st with the perfectly set refuel strategy. Tobias Sutrich (Xray) came in second, followed by Kandelhart Gerhard in 3rd. Another Xray driver Bjan Miklozic rounded up the top five while Sascha Klug retired due to technical issues.
