Report by Max Gotzl
The last round of the Czech Open series 2022 took a place last weekend in Horni Jeleni. The weather forecast looked scary, but in the end it worked out well on Friday and we had nicely wet track on the Saturday morning. Nevertheless the forecast in the afternoon promised rain, so the time schedule was moved a little bit to save us from racing in the rain.

Qualifying went out perfect as I TQed every run in both Nitro and Ebuggy class. In Nitro it was Jan Horacek in second and was followed by Jan Hrdlicka in 3rd. In Ebuggy I was followed by Jan Domansky and Mirek Koutek in 2nd and 3rd respectively. The track kept changing from wet to dusty in a few spots, so it was a challenge to keep on pace with tires and setup.

After a short lunch break we headed into mains, first up were the two rounds of Ebuggy, which I was able to win with a big gap over 2nd place to secure the overall win! In A1 Mirek Koutek fought his way up to 2nd and Erik Margony was 3rd. In A2 Jan Domansky took the 2nd and Erik again the 3rd spot.

Next up was the Nitro main final. I managed to pull away immediately and kept on improving my gap over 2nd for the whole race. Unfortunately it started to rain a lot during the final, which meant we finished on wet and slippery conditions and the cars ended up being a ball of mud… Nevertheless we finished the final and I was able to win it in front of Vladimir Pour in 2nd and Jan Horacek in 3rd!

This meant we didn't have the chance to drive the A3 of Ebuggy and the results were kept from the first two runs. I stood on the 1st place on the podium, Erik Margony was 2nd and Mirek Koutek finished 3rd.

Both XB8 cars worked great on the changing conditions! Both setups are posted on the Xray forum.
Big thanks to all my sponsors for the support during the whole season. This was my last outdoor race, which means that now it's time to come back to 1/10 and start with indoor racing again!
