Stavanger Modellbilklubb were the host of the Norwegian Indoor Championships this year. A massive 90+ drivers were signed up for this event. Divided into a few support classes. The permanent indoor track used the popular ETS carpet, which is very familiar for most in Norway, having said that, Carpet is glued to the floor giving it a bit of a different feeling compared with other tracks in the country.
It was clear early on that the fight would be between the two locals Mathias Nedrebo and Andreas Bryne. British racer Morgan Williams also showed up to give them a run for their money.
Qualifying ended up with Andreas taking the TQ honors after laying down a great run in Q3. Mathias and Morgan were tied on points with Mathias taking the tiebreaker based on time.
A1 became a bit of a tactical game with the teammates Andreas and Morgan playing a rather interesting team game against Mathias. In the end Mathias was still able to pass them both and went on to take the win in A1, followed closely by Morgan with Helge Johannessen in 3rd. Martin Sorlie came in 4th. Polesitter Andreas made a few errors in his battle with Mathias and ended up 5th.
In A2 the title was up for grabs if Mathias could get by Andreas. Eventually about halfway into the run, Mathias made a textbook pass on Andreas, and was able to pull clear and take the Championship. Andreas followed in 2nd with Martin taking 3rd.
