XRAY T2 Platform
Since releasing the first T1 in 2001, XRAY has become synonymous with quality, workmanship, performance, and luxury in the RC world. With countless victories and national titles from all around the world, and with multiple Car of the Year Awards, XRAY touring cars became the world’s most favourite touring car as voted in the Reader’s Choice Awards. Over the years, XRAY’s Engineering Department has continued its ongoing development, bringing with it a fresh new version of its touring car platform, always superseding and improving upon its predecessors.

New XRAY T2’007
Based on the very successful T2 platform, XRAY now presents the improved and refined 2007 XRAY T2. For the first time, XRAY has purposefully designed a touring car for both foam tire racing and rubber tire racing, to gain an edge in the highly-competitive spectrum of foam or rubber tire racing.

Full Compatibility
Since the T2’007 is built on the T2 platform, most parts are fully compatible and interchangeable between all of the cars. This means that at any time you can upgrade your T2 into the T2’007 EU or US version. Or you can convert the T2’007 EU version into the US version and vice-versa.

To make conversions very easy, comfortable and affordable, XRAY will shortly release the EU and US conversion sets, allowing you to easily upgrade your T2 to the desired new car edition.

The World’s Lowest Touring Car
When it comes to engineering, there are no boundaries for XRAY with their innovative and break-through ideas. Thanks to horizontal motor mounting, it was possible to design the world’s lowest touring car. The T2’007 is up to 4.5mm lower than the previous T2 platform, providing the world’s lowest CG ever. Thanks to the very low CG and the very low top deck mounting, the car now has more traction and grip and is easier to drive. Thanks to the extra grip the car is now less sensitive to changing racing conditions during race days.

New Long Top Deck Concept
The T2’007 features a new, specially-prolonged top deck that was purposefully extended to provide specific flex characteristics. Thanks to the very low bulkheads it was possible to prolong the top deck up to the central layshaft, and prolong it over the motor mounting area. Using the super-long top deck, both front and rear parts of the car are now connected together with the long flex, thus reducing unwanted tweak in crashes. The extra mounting position in the front of the rear bulkhead reinforces flex stiffness.

New Ultra-Low Bulkheads
All-new bulkheads were completely redesigned and are a work of engineering art, where luxury meets simplicity and practicality. The bulkheads were strategically machined to be ultra light, and thanks to the ultra-low platform it was possible to create the lowest, smallest, and lightest bulkheads ever. The rear bulkheads feature a split design, allowing the rear suspension to be mounted to separate bulkheads and the center layshaft sits on its own bulkheads.

Splid Design
The new ultra-light bulkheads are CNC-machined from premium Swiss 7075 T6 aluminum. All edges are precisely chamfered to provide luxurious attention to detail. The bulkheads have a split design which enables extra-easy access to front and rear differentials and middle layshaft. Exchanging the diffs and spur gear is super easy and fast!

Integrated Belt Tension
As with previous XRAY cars, both front and rear bulkheads feature integrated belt tension adjustment. The adjustable bearing eccentric holders allow easy belt tension control of front and rear belts, eliminating the need for a separate belt tensioner. All ball-bearings turn in composite hubs to decrease friction and improve drivetrain efficiency.

Pre-Built Bulkheads
XRAY’s attention to the detail and perfection is evident with the approach of TQM (Total Quality Management) – not only are all bulkheads inspected during the production process, but they are also mounted to the chassis by well-trained staff to verify that the car â€backbone†has been perfectly manufactured. So when you open the box, you will see and appreciate the beauty.

XRAY Multi-Flex Technology™ (XRAY patent)
The invention and release of the XRAY Multi-Flex Technology™ (XRAY patent) has resulted in some of the most significant milestones in touring car development in the past few years, and as such this innovation was not only praised by awards and appraisals, but mainly it has been proven as a distinct competitive advantage at race tracks world wide. All helping the T2 to dominate most races at local and national levels.

The all-new revolutionary and innovative approach to car setup and adjustment has undergone very detailed long-term testing and analysis, and has been further developed by the XRAY’s Engineering Team. For 2007, XRAY presents the improved and optimized Multi-Flex Technology™.

Multi-Flex Technology™ for rubber tire racing:
Due to the fact that rubber tire racing does not require extra-stiff flex settings, the EU edition car will allow you to set the flex anywhere between soft, medium and stiff, all directly on the car without exchanging or replacing any parts.

Multi-Flex Technology™ for foam tire racing:
For foam tire racing, due to very high grip conditions, the soft setting has never been used and thus the flex settings possibilities were pushed more towards the ultra-stiff end of the spectrum. Thanks to the new optimised Multi-Flex Technology™ the US edition car can be set anywhere between medium, stiff and ultra-stiff.

New EU Rubber-Specs Edition Chassis
The T2’007 EU edition chassis was slightly updated and optimized, being CNC-machined from 2.5mm premium graphite material. The Multi-Flex™ slots were slightly redesigned to provide improved flex characteristics.

Airflow Cut-outs
The area under the speed controller features cut-outs to allow extra airflow to cool the electronics.

The world’s most narrow chassis has been optimized for weight distribution with all electronics and batteries positioned as close as possible to the car centerline. In particular, the servo was moved more towards the centerline to provide better balance.

An inline 6-cell battery pack sits on the right side of the chassis. Composite battery supports ensure the battery pack stays in place.

New US Foam-Specs Edition Chassis
The T2’007 US edition features an all-new ultra-rigid and stiff chassis made from CNC-machined 3.5 extra-thick graphite material. The extra thickness enables the car to achieve an ultra-stiff torsion and flex setting required for high-competition foam racing.

Milled Chassis
The extra stiff chassis features milled pockets from the top of the chassis where all parts are connected or mounted to the chassis. This allows bulkheads and all other parts to be mounted very low, in fact it is at the level of the standard 2.5mm chassis.

The US edition chassis does not feature any cut-outs to allow the chassis to remain very stiff but still with the combination of top deck and alu stands, different Multi-Flex™ settings are possible.

The chassis features extra cut-outs under the speed controller to allow extra airflow to cool the electronics.

The area under the chassis where the battery tape is used was CNC-milled to allow the battery tape to sit above the bottom surface of the chassis.

An inline 6-cell battery pack sits on the right side of the chassis. Composite battery supports ensure the battery pack stays in place.

New Multi-Flex Technology™ Top Deck
Both EU and US edition top decks are CNC-machined from premium 2.5mm graphite and feature MFT™ milled slots for very easy and fast top deck flex adjustment. By removing or adding screws you can easily adjust the stiffness of the top deck from very soft (for rubber tire racing) to extra stiff (for foam tire racing). For enhanced top deck stiffness setting you can add or remove the included aluminum stands.

New EU Edition Top Deck
Both EU and US top decks were specially redesigned and optimized for racing conditions where they are being used.

The EU edition top deck features the well-proven Multi-Flex Technology™ positions while the shape has been redesigned and tapered to provide a bit more flex to the front suspension, while the rear is firmly attached to the bulkheads.

New US Edition Top Deck
The US edition top deck is purposefully wider in the front, allowing two different alu stands mounting positions to allow the creation of a super-solid platform thanks to the stand outer mounting positions.

New Rear Top Deck
The rear top deck was redesigned to provide optimized Multi-Flex Technology™ flex points. The rear top deck is universal, which means it is the same for both the EU and US versions. The rear top deck features two MFT™ positions. The outer positions are suggested for super-high grip tracks or when using foam tires.

XRAY Quick-Saver™
The XRAY Quick-Saver™ is another brand new innovation from the design boards of the XRAY’s Engineering Department. Thanks to the new fully-adjustable Quick-Saver™, in a matter of only a few seconds you can change the steering characteristics by adjusting the servo saver to one of 5 different integrated Ackermann positions. The servo saver comes factory pre-built, guaranteeing exceptionally smooth, responsive, and precise steering. The alloy central shaft holds a pre-built strong preload spring.

Adjustable Steering Bell-crank
An adjustable position steering bell-crank is used to change steering Ackermann settings. By turning a pair of composite eccentric bushings in the chassis and top deck, you can move the complete assembly forward or backward. Remember you still have an additional 5 Quick-Saver™ Ackermann positions to choose from. The bell-crank is supported by two ball-bearings.

Ultra-efficient Drivetrain Concept
The ultra-efficient drivetrain from the coveted T2 has been carried over into the T2’007. This drivetrain has proven to be the most efficient and effective electric touring car drivetrain system. The inline, super-efficient twin-belt drivetrain features oversized pulleys with optimum 1.7 internal ratio. The race-proven pulleys and drive belts have been carried over from the T1 platform and the super-efficient 20T middle shaft pulley guarantees the best belt wrapping and highly-efficient drivetrain.

XRAY Multi-Diff™
The EU T2’007 features the XRAY Multi-Diff™, an XRAY innovation and patent. This unique front diff has three different settings: one-way / one-way solid / full-time solid axle. You can easily set the Multi-Diff™ as a standard one-way, or lock the one-way outdrives so both left and right outdrives turn together as a solid axle, or even fully lock the Multi-Diff™ so it works as a full-time solid axle (spool).

The specially-lightened one-way outdrives manufactured from HUDY Spring Steel™ have a hex slot on the inside ends. A lightweight hex-axle is inserted into both one-way outdrives to lock them together and create a solid one-way, which means both outdrives will freely turn as one-way, but both at the same time, thus creating a solid one-way.

To create a full-time solid axle, a pin is inserted through the outer aluminum body of the Multi-Diff™ and the inner hex-axle, locking the outdrives to the main outer axle, thus creating a full-time solid axle.

Adjustable Ball Differential
• Strong, duraluminum rear ball differential is heat-treated and hardcoated
• Manufactured from new special Swiss 7075 T6 aluminum which is 30% stronger than previous material
• Externally adjustable

Precision Spur Gears
Precision-moulded spur gears are made from XRAY's exclusive secret blend of plastic, allowing the gear to run true, be super quiet and robust enough to handle low-wind modified motors. The spur gears are strategically designed to have the lowest possible weight while keeping them strong and light. Each gear is stamped with a tooth number for easy identification.

The EU edition features a 48-pitch 84T spur gear, while the US edition features a 64-pitch 116T spur gear.

New Middle Layshaft Holders
The new middle layshaft composite holders have a new updated shape to fit into the new bulkheads. The front and rear upper top decks capture the holders in levered areas.

Alu Middle Layshaft
The new aluminum layshaft is strategically CNC-machined to reduce rotating weight to a minimum without compromising strength or integrity. The layshaft is hollow, and perfectly round with zero runout, eliminating driveline vibration and producing a positive balance. Composite 20T pulleys key to the layshaft.

Drive Belts
The 2-belt, 4WD drivetrain concept provides maximum efficiency and highest performance using ultra-high durable drive belts. Narrow (3mm) front and rear drive belts have been specially ground for minimum thickness and flexibility.

Premium Ball-Bearings
• Fully ball-bearing equipped; 22 bearings in the kit
• High-speed, blue-sealed ball-bearings throughout the drivetrain for maximum drivetrain efficiency
• Highest tolerance and maximum performance bearings
• Small-size ball-bearings used in steering blocks and uprights reduce unsprung weight
• Ball-bearings are degreased and lightly oiled with Aero Shell® Fluid 12 for maximum smoothness and long life
• High-quality carbide thrust bearings for adjustable ball differential

Proven T2 Suspension Geometry
From the narrow arms, through the tiny front and rear suspension blocks, to the smaller more robust steering blocks, every suspension part is specially designed and optimized to provide responsive racing characteristics in all racing conditions. Over the years XRAY has successfully gained and utilized extensive suspension geometry knowledge and self-developed suspension stiffness technology, which have been utilized when designing the T2 suspension parts. The ultra-lightweight suspension parts are moulded from special composite material that makes the parts very light yet very durable to withstand the rigors of high-performance racing.

The rear uprights feature an integrated 1° outboard toe-in. There are two different roll center positions on the rear uprights while more different roll center positions can be easily adjusted by adding shims between the upright and turnbuckle ball joint.

The steering blocks and rear uprights feature tiny 5x10 ball-bearings, thus minimizing unsprung weight. The steering blocks feature two Ackermann positions.

Suspension Arms
The T2’007 features proven T2 narrow lightweight suspension arms. The arms feature multiple optimized shock mounting positions and anti-roll bar mounts.

The EU rubber-spec edition features standard hard composite mixture arms, labelled with ‶H※. The US edition includes brand new, extra-hard arms (marked with ‶XH※) manufactured from specially-formulated composite compounds which makes the arms extra stiff.

XRAY Suspension Holders
The T2’007 uses the smart suspension holders from the T2. The aluminum inserts in the composite holders guarantee that geometry and setup will not change and will be retained even after a heavy crash.

There are three different suspension composite holders that enable easy roll center setup. The standard suspension holder features 0mm roll center, and the two eccentric suspension holders raise or lower the roll center by 0.75mm.

The smart XRAY geometry uses variable shims between the bulkheads and suspension holders to enable easy rear toe-in adjustment. However, you can easily remove the shims which will narrow the suspension, and then add wheel offset shims to reclaim track-width.

HUDY Spring Steel™ Driveshafts
The T2’007 drive shafts remain the worldâ€s tiniest yet most durable driveshafts used in electric touring cars. These premium driveshafts have been exclusively manufactured from special world-renowned, top-secret, self-developed HUDY Spring Steel™. The driveshafts have been strategically lightened – see the hollow end of the dogbone – to guarantee the lowest possible weight without compromising strength or durability. This specially-lightened driveshaft can only be manufactured from special HUDY Spring Steel™ which was developed for extreme racing conditions. The driveshafts have been additionally hand-ground for maximum accuracy and to provide true rotation and unbinding drivetrain operation.

The lightweight constant velocity universal drive shafts are easily rebuildable. Low-friction drive clips are used on the ends of driveshafts to minimize wear thus guaranteeing highest value and minimizing servicing costs.

Improved Drive Shaft Clips
Even such small details like the driveshaft clips were improved and updated for the T2’007. Due to increasing power generated from the latest batteries and motor equipment there is much more force on the drivetrain and thus the wear rate of the composite driveshaft clips has been increasing. XRAY updated the shape of the drive shaft clips which now fit the drive shaft better and the wear rate has decreased.

It is important to know that the drive shaft blades are made by purpose to wear instead of wearing the diff outdrives or the drive shaft pins, therefore regular maintenance and replacement are required.

Alu Wheel Axles
Ultra-lightweight wheel axles are CNC-machined from 7075 T6 aluminum and feature ultra-true hex hubs which guarantee wobble-free wheel mounting. The wheel axles are specially machined to reduce rotating weight. Optional wheel axles with different offsets are available (-0.75, +0.75, +1.5mm).

HUDY Spring Steel™ Turnbuckles
All adjustable turnbuckles used in the T2’007 are manufactured from the world-renowned, ultra durable HUDY Spring Steel™. The turnbuckles have incredible long life and maximum strength. A versatile turnbuckle tool is included in the kit.

Graphite Shock Towers
Front and rear shock towers are CNC-machined from premium 3mm thick graphite material to guarantee maximum strength and long life. The shock towers feature optimized shock mounting positions and 4 different positions for Quick Roll Center™ settings. The all-in-one shock towers are optimized for use with rubber or foam tires. The rear shock tower has a redesigned and reinforced area around the Quick Roll Center™ positions to prevent breakage from serious crashes.

XRAY Quick Roll-Centers™
XRAY’s innovative Quick Roll-Centers™ make setup much easier and faster. Front and rear shock towers feature 4 pre-set optimized roll center positions. Using eccentric aluminum roll center holders you can easily choose one of the 4 quick roll-center positions. Easy, smart, quick.

XRAY Externally Adjustable Shocks
The T2’007 features the proven externally-adjustable XRAY racing shocks. Without disassembling the shocks and changing pistons, you can easily adjust the shock damping to 4 different damping settings. The threaded bodies enable easy ride height adjustment.

The shocks feature foam membrane inserts for smoother shock operation.

The shock rods are specially hardened to guarantee long life and maximum strength.

Shock Pistons
XRAY keyed shock pistons can be used to make adjustable or non-adjustable shocks. Along with the 2-piece adjustable shock pistons, three different non-adjustable pistons are included.

XRAY Racing Springs
Both EU and US editions feature shock springs which were carefully selected for different racing conditions. The EU edition features proven gold and silver springs, while the US edition features light-purple and white springs.

As all other XRAY springs, these springs were manually measured and selected to guarantee precisely equal length and damping characteristics.
