The chassis is CNC-machined from high-quality Swiss 3mm 7075 T6 aluminum, and is strategically machined in low-stress areas to make it as light as possible without affecting strength or rigidity. The chassis is hardcoated at XRAY’s own in-house fully robotic hardcoating line, ensuring a perfect hardcoated surface every time.

Non-essential material below the engine, fuel tank, and diffs was removed to allow for the lightest weight and lowest possible center of gravity. The downstop setscrew area has been greatly reinforced, and all screw holes on the bottom of the chassis are countersunk to give a very smooth chassis underside with no protruding screw heads.

The XB808 chassis was completely redesigned from the ground up to provide a solid foundation for XRAY’s high-performance off-road racer. All-new weight distribution was integrated into the buggy’s design, with centralized placement of internal parts for improved side-to-side weight balance.

Swiss 7075 T6 is extremely rigid aluminum material and after the hardcoating process in rare cases some small cracks may occur – for example, around openings or on edges where tension in the material is highest. Those small cracks are a natural effect and have no negative impact on the performance, reliability, or lifespan of the product and as such are not considered to be a defect.

Due the nature of the aluminum material and the machining process, it is normal that the chassis may be slightly bent in the longitudinal direction.
