The third running of the UK Micro Challenge took place at the weekend; the meeting as usual was hosted by TRRAC under the watchful eye of Kevin Bradley.
72 drivers lined up in three classes catering for stock and brushless machines, the biggest class was the Pro Stock Class. Five heats of Pro Stock drivers were led away by the winner of the first ever Micro challenge Olly Jefferies, this time Olly would be driving a Xray M18T with Orion power.

On paper pre event favourite was off road expert Chris Doughty, if Olly was to mount a challenge he would have to learn quickly about jumping as the track featured some pretty testing jumps.
By the end of round two Olly had mastered his M18t and was looking good over the jumps, this resulted in him taking FTD at this point and leading the field. Eventually Olly would end up second on the grid for the A final behind a rapid Stephen Davies.

Olly made a good start to the A final and by the second lap held the lead, but it was soon obvious Olly was in trouble and not long after the M18t stopped with electrical problems spoiling a fun days racing for Olly.
âśI think overall we showed the potential of the M18t, I ran the car in it most standard form, the only change being I fitted the aluminium drives shafts, the car behaved well over the jumps and was competitive against more specialist machinery, I was pleasantly surprised with my performance and the fact I got the most out of the car, with exception of the final the M18t ran faultlessly all dayâť said Olly.
