The 2007 18th Scale Truck Nationals were held on April 13th - 15th at RC Madness in Enfield Ct. , with over 230 entries this year. This race gets bigger and better every year and shows the increasing popularity of 1/18 micro cars. Zack entered in 4 seperate classes running his XRAY micro trucks this year. The classes that Zack ran were: 4wd stock, 4wd Mod, 4wd brushless and Mini Monster. Three rounds of qualifiers were held for this race, and then the mains were run on Sunday.
Zack qualified 2nd overall in 4wd stock , and was running in 2nd in the entire main, but tagged a rail towards the end of the race which put him into third place .
In 4wd Mod Zack qualified 2nd overall heading into the main , and went on to finish in 2nd place after an extremely exciting race where he finished only 1 second behind the first place winner. |

In the Mini Monster class, Zack dominated, winning all 3 qualifiers [some by 2 laps], and went on to win the main .
In 4wd brushless class, Zack qualified in 4th, in what turned out to be the fastest and most competitive class of the whole weekend. The race began with Zack quickly moving up to second position, where he followed for several laps. The leader had a bobble allowing Zack to pass where he ran in 1st for almost the rest of the race. Near the end of the race Zack got put into the rails, and by the time the marshall got him back on his wheels he had dropped back to 5th position, where he finished the race.
This was a Great race, and once again Zack and XRAY showed their quality and performance. |
