Round 1 of 1:8 Truggy for the Cyprus Championship took place at Daytona RC Off Road Track in Nicosia on Saturday, March 14th.

Unfortunately, bad weather influenced the number of drivers attending. During qualifying, three XRAY drivers took the top 3 first starting positions, with Savvakis Taliadoros taking TQ ahead of his teammates Antros Lemesianos and Stelios Aristodimou.
The fastest lap time was set by Antros Lemesianos with his XRAY XT8 Truggy.
After a dramatic start to the final, Antros Lemesianos led the race with Stelios Aristodimou following. Savvakis Taliadoros fell from 1st place to last place and while he was battling to gain a better position Antros Lemesianos built a safety gap of 1 lap ahead of his teammate Stelios Aristodimou. After a dramatic 35-minute Final and after great driving from Savvakis Taliadoros (and after bad luck for Lemesianos when his engine shut off) Savvakis Taliadoros managed to take the win!
