This weekend we had the first Czech National Championship of 1/10 electric. The Championship consists of two races, one in each summer and winter. The champion had to be winner in both seasons.

This year it was club MK Svitavy that hosted the first outdoor national, and the club was really well prepared. The track was 100% AstroTurf. Again I met a new surface with the electric class.
Saturday we had qualification runs on schedule. I tried to learn this new surface by trying different tires, and I finally settled on Schumacher minipins since they were the most consistent on the track.
Afterwards I started rebuilding the set-up for carpet. The last time I drive the Euros it was a completely different surface. I made many changes until finally my car was really easy to drive.
I secured TQ and pole for the A main.

Sunday we had finals were on the schedule. In the morning I made a few adjustment on my car â“ such as shocks and ride height â“ and finally the car was dialed. I managed to win the first two mains to take victory home.
Everyone has been very happy with performance of the XB4. It was most used car during weekend.
In the 2WD class I have raced together with my teammate Jirka Mara with the XB2 prototype. For both of us it was the first race on AstroTurf with this prototype, so we had a lot of work to do right from the beginning. I used my set-up from the Euros, but of course had to change plenty of details to adapt to the new surface. As there was not enough time between the 4WD and 2WD runs we could not make any significant changes so we worked it out slowly with small changes all the time. Jirka had a great performance in the qualifiers and set the TQ.

In my qualifiers I had problems with the Astroturf getting into the drivetrain and blocking it, so I could not finish any better than 7th. In the main finals, Jirka won two finals without any pressure and got the Czech National champion 2WD with his XRAY XB2 prototype. Great job and congratulations! Despite my starting in 7th place I was still able to work my way up the pack and I finished on the podium in overall 3rd position.

So it was a double win & double podium finish at the Czech Nationals in both 2WD and 4WD classes with the XB4, and the XB2 had a great result and achievement.
Thanks to everyone at Team XRAY for their very hard work & congratulations on the awesome results!
