Last weekend we already had the last race for the Dutch championship 1/8th onroad. This year was not so easy to make time for racing because of my work which was crazy busy all the time, so results were not as they should be and at this last race i was still able to win the championship but i had to win and my closest competitor had to be 4th or less. Not really a situation i like but anything could happen.
On Saturday we tried the car and after getting the feeling back i got faster and faster, and at the end we could do 13.2-13.3 laptimes which was really good.
On Sunday during qualifying my car was fast but too difficult to drive so i changed some settings to solve this. In the second heat it was better and i made TQ just missing out on 23 laps because of some traffic. In the 3rd nobody improved so i was TQ for this race.
During the semifinal warmup i crashed into another car that suddenly stalled at the end of the straight. During the semi i lost the steering every lap and barely made the finish.
So because of the slow time i would start 4th on the grid for the main final. After the start i was some laps behind 3rd place before i could make a pass and then i could close in on the first and 2nd place. After some laps i got closer but hit a rock and the body got stuck somehow so i had to get this fixed.
When i got out of the pit the 1st place car was behind me but i was still on the same lap so i pushed and pulled away. After the 1st place car had some issues so i took over and won by 7 laps. Also my closest competitor only managed 6th so i was able to take the Dutch championship aswell!
