Race report by Alexander Hagberg
The ETS kicked off its 2013/14 season with the first event held in Hrotovice, Czech Republic. The European XRAY team was in full attendance with all the team drivers present. Some drivers from the team, myself included, had been practicing at the Hudy Arena a few days leading up to the event - to have the best possible preparation for this event.

My car was working very well right from the start, I was one of the early pace setters, as was Adrian Berntsen, Tim Wahl and Marco Kaufmann, also posting very quick laptimes with their T4'14 cars. In qualifying, it was all very close, with the top 4 drivers basically on the same pace. In the end I managed to qualify 2nd on the grid after some clean and fast runs. 2nd place was a respectable result in qualifying, as the TQ man was less than a second in front in some of the qualifiers. Marco Kaufmann also made the A-final for XRAY. Tim Wahl and Martin Hudy both qualified for the B-final, which is also a decent result in this high level of competition.

Marek ČernĂ˝ was one of the pre-event favourites with his XRAY T4'14 in the stock class. After a very close qualifying also in that class, Marek managed to qualify 2nd overall as well, missing out on the TQ by just a few tenths. Marek's luck was not repeated in the mains, as he was a victim of some unfair driving from the competition, but also to his own mistakes, which meant that he would finish 4th overall. Instead, it was the young German driver Tobias Vogel who stepped up with a great drive, to finish 3rd overall - and take his first international podium placing. Well done Tobias!

I had a very good car at this race. Unfortunately, I did too many driving mistakes in the finals, to be able to fight for the win. But I remain determined, to return more motivated than ever, for the upcoming rounds of the ETS!

A big thanks to all of our team for your hard work. Hope to see everyone again soon, as the ETS is heading to Germany for the Round 2.
