The XRAY Challenge Grand Final was held during the weekend of May 2-4 at the Hudy Racing Arena in Trencin, Slovakia. Racers from many countries including Slovakia, Czech Republic, Germany, Sweden, UK, Italy, Greece and Poland joined the race, which saw some 60 entries in 5 different classes - 1/10 nitro, 1/8 nitro, 1/10 electric modified, 1/10 electric stock and 1/10 pan cars.
Practice started on Friday with open practice for all drivers. Good weather allowed for running on the big outdoor track. Drivers were all getting ready to race. |

| On Saturday however, rainy conditions moved the racing indoors for the electric classes. The nitro racing had to be delayed to Sunday. It was good fun to be racing indoors on the high grip, world class, asphalt track. I was able to TQ the first 4 qualifiers in Modified, followed by Martin Hudy and Olly Jefferies. Marek Cerny was the quickest, followed by David Nemcek, all running XRAY T4 2014 cars. |

Sunday started off with sunny conditions, however, a bit chilly in the morning. Electric qualifying finished with the same results as on Sunday. Martin Hudy set the TQ in the 1/8 category, with myself being the TQ in 1/10 nitro with a comfortable margin.
Finals set off with semi finals for all drivers in the nitro categories. No surprises there as the favourites moved on to the main 30 minute final without any problems.

| In electric, I managed to win all three finals in the Modified class, challenged at times by Martin Hudy and Olly Jefferies. Marek Cerny had the same result in the stock class, again followed by David Nemcek. |

In nitro, Martin won the 1/8 category with ease, using a prototype FX engine in his RX8 2014 car. I managed to win the 1/10 category with a 3 lap margin in front of Rico Kröber and Igor Liptak.
It was a very enjoyable weekend for everyone involved, with great atmosphere, on and off the track. We are looking forward to upcoming XRAY Challenge races in Slovakia and around Europe. Thank you everyone for coming! |
