Race report by Marco Kaufmann
The ETS pilotrace took place in NĂĽrburg last weekend. Our track was built in the "Ring Boulevard" direct at the racetrack NĂĽrburgring.

The track was pretty nice with a good flow and some nice fast chikanes, and to this event Uwe and the rest of the team have got some new curbs, there was very easy to see, and worked very well!

The carpet was the carpet that will be used to the upcoming ETS indoor season. For this race we used the new ride indoor tire. That tire looks much better now. Because the rotation and the glue is better than at the tire from last year.

Modified:
In the Modified class a lot of good international drivers attended, like Jan Ratheisky, Yannic PrĂĽmper, Dominick Fleischmann or Julian Borowski.

My car was working very well right from the start I was one of the early pace setters. Jan Ratheisky posting also very good lap times with his XRAY car. In Qualifying Yannic PrĂĽmper took the TQ spot with some great runs. After Yannic it was all very close, between Dominik FIeischmann and me. In the end I managed to qualify 2nd on the grid after some clean and fast runs. Jan Ratheisky also made the A-final for XRAY. He started 8th which is also a good result in this high level of competition.

The Finals was dominated by Yannic PrĂĽmper. He took the victory in A1 and A2 and was the overall winner. The battle for the second position was between me and Dominik Fleischmann. It was super close racing. At the end, I was able to safe my position and finished second in the overall ranking.

I finished the last practice with my XRAY T4 one week before I was leaving to the NĂĽrbergring to race the pilot ETS race, and was very happy with the set-up and how the car was working.
I rebuild the car, and then i was ready to hit the track!

Qualifying:
I made no changes to my car, as I liked how it worked, only fitted some new race-tires on it. Jan have droven his Race tires in the last practise, because he didn’t like how it drived the first minut of the race.

First Qualy:
I was able to get a good clean start, and have a good pace, Oliver rolled his car, and I was in front. My car was very fast and easy on new tires, and in the end i have a 5 second gap down to Henrik Heitsch, and with Tobias seidl and Jan Ratheisky who had a tight batlle for 3rd.

Jan got the 3rd place in this one, only 1 tenth behind Tobias. Valentin made a good run and made a 6th in the first qualy. On my last lap I crashed with a slower car who had rolled it and just droved dicretly in the side of my car, I lost 4 second, but was still TQ’ing the run, but not so fast as it could be.

Second Qualy:
It was an early batlle between Oliver, Me and Jan. But on lap 8 Jan rolled his car, and on the 9th lap I was doing the same, we both lost 1 second, after that I pushed a little harder and got closer to Oliver agian with Jan in 3rd. But on my last lap I made a mistake that cost me 1,7 seconds, so Oliver took this round, with Me in the 2nd spot and Jan Ratheisky in the 3rd spot, Valentin got some good speed in the car after we made some changes, and made a 4th place in this round.

Third Qualy &Fourth Qualy:
I had a good start, I have dismount the alloy stand and plug in the four screws in the topdeck, now the car had crazy good steering, but was very nervous to drive. I was in lead untill lap 8th where I hit a curb and the car was on the roof, I lost too much time. I made the fastest lap of the saturday race: 12,165. Jan had a good run, and he was going faster and faster as his setup got better and better, Jan made a 3rd only 3 tenth after Henrik and Oliver in the first spot. Valentin made a 5th in this round.

I made some changes to try to get the car easier and not so nervous with putting the hard progressiv spring in front, and that helped a lot! Good start with both me and Jan who was battle for the lead, Oliver broke his Spurgear and unfortunetly i was only few meters after him and his car just stopped and I hit it. I Lost 1,7 second on this little crash, and now Jan was in the lead, I pushed and it was going to be a good battle between me and Jan! But on the last lap Jan rolled it and need to be marshalled and lost 4 seconds. But Jan was able to hold on the 3rd spot! I took the TQ in this round with Max Mächler in 2nd. So now it was a Tie’breaker between me and Oliver Franke, Oliver just had a faster TQ run than me, So Oliver got the Overall TQ.

First Final:
Good start on the first lap, but on the second lap Jan got crashed and was done to 9th place, and on lap 5, I got to hard on the curb out on the straight and rolled out of the track. Jan had now fight his way to the 7th spot, I was in the 5th. In the front it was Oliver and Henrik who had a good gap to the rest. I was able to make some nice moves and i got back to the 3rd spot! And Jan now in the 4th. I finished only 3secs after Henrik, and Jan 8 tenths after Me. – Valentin broke his car on first lap, and could not finish.

Second Final:
This time I made a better start, I was able to push and be in the back of Oliver in all the 5 minutes. I try to make some pressure on Oliver, and sometimes try to look on the inside, but Oliver made no mistakes and was blocking very good, I finished 2nd only 3 tenth after Oliver.

Jan was able to make a good move on Henrik after 5 laps, and was in 3rd, Jan was trying to get in touch with me and Oliver but he had not enought time and finish 3, 3 seconds after me.

Third Final:
Oliver already have won, but he was fully push to make good laps, and I took it easy and try not to make mistakes to hold on my 2nd place overall, Oliver make no mistakes at all.
Jan made an awesome overtake on Henrik in the first Corner, and then he was pushing to try to catch me. After 5 minutes Jan was only 7 tenths after me.

Valentin got hit from the start and his body was stucked. And need to be fixed, we have fit the same set-up on his car as mine, and he was very fast, but had no luck.
