Report by Mike Gosvig
The 5th round of nationals was held in Faxe in a big sportshall. A big track with technical corners, chicanes and the flow was okay, but at the race day the track changed a lot because of all the additive from the foam tires.

In the practice with 3 best laps counted it was clear that my car was dialed in for the race, as well as young Jack Holger Sorensen and Patrick Danielsen.

Qualifying:
In the qualys I was able to TQ all 3 rounds, and also be the only driver on 24 laps. Our young drivers were doing very well with Patrick Danielsen in 4th, Jack Holger in 5th, both drivers had not the best qualys because of small mistakes.

Also an impressive drive from the newest little guy Kevin Nielsen who made some very good smooth driving with 2x 6thplace to get the 6 spot on the grid! It was Kevin’s first time with his XRAY T4’15 and he was very happy about how the car handle. Young Jeppe Svendsen also made the A-main with his XRAY.

After Qualifying:
1. Mike Gosvig – XRAY T4

2. Soren Boy Holst
3. Casper Morgen
4. Patrick Danielsen - XRAY T4

I was very happy about my team mates and we had 5 cars out of 8 in the a-main!

Finals:

First Final I could pull an early gap on 2 seconds down to Soren in 2nd and Jack Holger made a perfect start to go from 5thto 3rd, he could hold his position to the finish line. Same with the 1st and 2ndplace I could make an gap to 3,1 sec after the final after a lot of traffic for me on the last 4 laps where I lost around 2 secs. Patrick Danielsen made some mistakes and he retired to safe tires.

Second Final, I again could pull a little gap to Soren, but I got on the curb out to the straight and Soren was close on me again, after some laps Soren got over a curb and touched my rear end and the Body got stuck… Soren waited to continue the fight but we were too far from the front, Casper Morgen took the lead with again impressive good drive by Jack Holger to take the 2nd spot this final behind Casper in the 1st.

Third Final, Soren tried to go on the inside on my car in the first corner but tried too hard and spun around after he hit me in the side, this allowed me to pull a gap on Casper who drove safe to get his 2ndoverall, this time he had some pressure from Patrick Danielsen, who had some bad first 2 mains. But now he was able to try to find a way past Casper!

Jack Holger who had 2 good mains in the bag, got hit by Soren Boy after his spin at the start, and Jack must try to drive from the back of the row, he fought back again to get the 4th place back! In the same time I had pulled a 5,5second gap to Casper and Danielsen. I won the last main with Casper in 2nd and Patrick Danielsen in 3rd.

Young Kevin had also some good fights with Soren and was able to hold him back for some time, but in the last laps he made a small mistake which allowed Soren to pass him. After the mains Jack was tied on points with Soren, but Jack’s fastest main was a little slower than Soren’s so Jack got the 4th place.
