Race report by Mike Gosvig
Round four of Danish off-road nationals was held in Jylland, in the town Holstebro, the club was ENB-RC and the track was little but super cool to drive with a lot of technical jumps.

In the truggy class, my car was very good and easy to drive, I could make the fastest lap times but I made mistakes in the first 2 qualifiers, I got back in Q3 to make the fastest TQ time and also TQ in Q4 to take the overall TQ!

There was a lot of rain before the finals and also a little bit at the start of the final. I started from my TQ place and I took the perfect start and got away, after a few minutes I could easy build a good gap on this very muddy track.

On the halfway mark my car was getting heavier and every time we did pitstop my mechanics tried to clean the car. I built a 5 lap lead because almost all other guys had some flame outs, so we decided to clean the rims and the body in an extra fuel stop because I almost had no torque for the jumps on the track, after the cleaning I was still 3 laps ahead of Jesper lund in 2nd.

At the last laps of the race the car was so heavy that I almost could not take jumps, so I took it easy and drove safe to take the victory in front of Jesper Lund in 2nd and Christian Williams in 3rd.

In the Electric buggy class, my car was super good, I could TQ the first round, with only one small mistake. In the second Q we got a little bit of rain, and I had the wrong tires for wet surface, so I made some mistakes and was 4th in this round. The 3rd Q I was back on my pace, but 2 laps to finish I lost 7 seconds after a bad landing, and I was 2nd in this round. Last Q was a battle for overall TQ between Pelle and I, but we got a lot of rain again, but this advantage took the local man Jan Larsen took the advantage of this situation, he was super fast in these conditions and TQed this round in front of me.

In the finals, the rain had come again, the track was very wet, I got in touch with some back markers and I was on my roof. I dropped to last place and had to fight back. I was able to get to 3rd place but in the last two laps my car was too slow and I got passed by Nikolai Lamberts and Jan Hansen. Jan Larsen was very fast and won this main in front of fast Magnus Frandsen and Nikolai in 3rd. At this moment I had to retire from the race because of electronic issues.

Nitro Buggy class was held on Sunday, on a dry track, but very damaged from the Saturday’s wet races.

My FX powered XB8 was very smooth to drive and fast. I could TQ the first round of qualification in front of Pelle and Jan Hansen. Second round was good start for me, but I made too many mistakes because I was trying a different setup, so the car was hard to drive. Due to the steering servo problems I could not attend the the third round. Even that I set the new lap record in 4th qualification it wasn’t enough for overall TQ.

In Semi B-main, I got a perfect start and could hold on the lead all the way 2 laps down to Jan d. Hansen, my car was awesome and easy to drive! I would start from Pole position in the main as my 20minutes run was the fastest.

In the main, I got an ok start but in the third corner I got hit by another car and dropped to last place. Now Oliver was in front of the field, Tim in second and Pelle 3rd. I did my best to catch up with leaders and worked my way up through the field but in the 8 minute after the big jump I landed in the middle of clustered cars and my car broke :-( I was just behind Oliver Fischer to take a nice battle for the lead. But that’s racing some times. Oliver made a good comeback to the off-road racing and took the win in front of Tim Culmsee and young upcoming star Nikolai Lamberts!

Thanks to all my sponsors and of course XRAY for the amazing support!
