Race report by Alexander Hagberg
The final event of the very popular Euro Touring Series was held, for the third consecutive time, at the Hudy Racing Arena in Trencin. A record entry count for ETS asphalt events, meant that more than 350 entries crowded the arena for this June weekend. Overall championships were up for grabs in three different classes.

In the modified class, Bruno Coelho took an impressive TQ & win at our home event, to the joy of the crowd. I managed to finish in a strong runner up position, after winning the last qualifying round, I could fight for the lead with my team mate in the first final, but Bruno took a more comfortable win in A2 to wrap up the win. So we took a relatively easy 1-2 finish in those two finals. I went on to win A3 with a big margin, to secure 2nd overall. It felt fantastic as a team, to dominate this event with such a perfect handling car.

For the overall championships, it meant that Bruno would finish 3rd, and me 5th in the overall standings. The championship as a whole was extremely close this year, and with a bit more luck, we could have finished higher. I felt particularly happy about our performance on asphalt this year which was definitely on top compared to the previous years where we struggled a bit.

In the pro stock class, Marek Cerny had an extremely difficult task ahead of him to win the overall championships, where he had to finish at least on 2nd place in the final event. After some very exciting finals, it was Marek who could step on top of the podium in front of his team mate Jan Ratheisky. Marek had succeeded in his quest to win his 3rd consecutive overall title in the pro stock division!

Formula class – it was our top formula driver Jan Ratheisky who managed to chase down and beat the TQ man David Ehrbar in the finals. As Jan had already secured his overall title in Formula after the recent ETS in Luxembourg, Jan could enjoy another victory at this last event. A perfect ending to the season and a perfect result for the X1 car once again! Congratulations also to Mike Gosvig for making the podium in Trencin in 3rd position!

One might say that the XRAY team reached a dream result this past weekend in Trencin – taking the win in all three classes, as well as a double win in Modified and Pro Stock – something which was rarely seen in the past. Congrats to the entire team for a great performance! Bring on the next season!
