Race Report by Jirka Vysin
Final round of Czech Nationals was hold by Czech Masters Series team last weekend in Prague, Plechovka. Over 75 racers attending the race across various classes assured great competition. The layout was kept same from the warm-up and this time organizers with help of Tomas Liptak build beautiful track which felt challenging but natural to drive on providing many interesting types of corners.
Modified class had highest participation which is great to see as it’s the fastest as well as the most difficult class. The championship title was already decided before the race started as Jiri Vysin won first two rounds and secured his win. During all the race there were two top pace drivers who made it obvious that they will be the two fighting for the race win. Martin Hudy who was not just super was but also pretty consistent was able to win last two finals taking the victory. Jakub Rozycki was possibly little faster in terms of fastest laps but the consistency wasn’t so precise. Therefore the fight between these two was exiting from the first round and noting was decided until the last one. The fight for third place was especially between Matej Sulc and Maty Knopp who were quite similar in terms of pace and consistency all the race. Matej was the one taking third place by reaching one more point than Maty. Great job by Maty considering his young age.
The national series was successfully finished and I already can’t wait for the first race of another series at the end of the winter. Thank you to the hosting team for enjoyable weekend.
