Lithuania nationals Round 1 race report.
Season opening was held in Rokiskis, a new track there with layout suitable for 1:5 scale cars. It was a pretty stacked event when counting drivers and it is looking very good and looks like competition is growing fast. This time I ran two classes 1:8 e-buggy and 1:8 nitro, but with nitro I had to run in 1:8 open class, because not enough drivers registered with nitro cars.
In e-buggy my car was pretty decent, but it felt like it was lacking speed, but I wasn't aware of that, because it was first time we had a chance to run outside (same week we had 10cm of snow). I managed to qualify in P2, but at qualifying I already saw problem, that my motor was lacking speed and it was drawing too much energy. In A1 I was pretty consistent, but barely made it to finish line, before battery died, got a P2, in A2 I did not do any practice laps, and was trying to keep up with the pace with P1 and I did manage to barely roll over finish line in P3 and in A3 got a bit unlucky with stone stuck between turnbuckle and wheel and finish in P3 to get overall P4. I was pretty happy or the day, because we had really close fights for first four positions. Great race it was and updated car was fantastic, just need to sort out problem with my electronics.
With nitro buggy it was pretty straight forward, I got a TQ, won first two finals and got the win. My Xray XB8 was like on wings and it was faster than e-buggy.
It was pretty satisfying to watch, where every class, where Xray cars were participating, they all got a win.
It was a very good season opening race and I am looking forward to getting up to top and having great time with great battles on track. Big thank You for EuroRc and Xray!
