This year's TopRC Summer Electric Masters took place again at the nice track owned by the club Newteamfriuli (Cervignano â“ Italy). The track with its nice layout and flat surface is really a nice one to race on. The track was prepared with sugared water, so the grip level was already good right from practice.

Great weather was expected for the weekend...and it was really the last hit from this year's very hot summer. Temperatures of about 35°C were present on both days making racing even more difficult ⓠfor drivers and materials.
There were 4 categories racing at this event: 1/10 F1 21.5, 1/10 Touring Stock 13.5, 1/10 Touring Modified and 1/8 Electric GT.
On Saturday the track was open for free practice and since the race was run with controlled tyre for classes 1/10 Touring and 1/8 GT, racers had the possibility to test the SP Racing tyres. Till the end of the day all had their cars settled and prepared for Sunday's race. In the evening the local club (Luca) prepared us a very nice dinner.

On Sunday the day started with one run of controlled practice and then we started with 3 runs of qualifying.
In 1/10 F1 it was Alojzij Osvald (XRAY X1/REDS/REDS) who was dominating the qualifications, followed by Borut Svoljšak (XRAY X1) and De Vecchi Roberto.
In 1/10 Touring Modified it was again Alojzij Osvald (XRAY T4 2015/REDS/REDS) taking TQ, but he was put on pressure by the young Andrea Ghilotti (XRAY T4). In third place it was a very fast Matej Miklavec (XRAY T4).

In 1/10 Touring Stock 13.5T class Rok Rudl (XRAY X1/REDS) took TQ in front of Massimo Gratton and Gašper Ravbar.

The very popular 1/8 electric GT class saw a fast Goran Vignjevič taking TQ in front of Rok Pongrac and Jan Pernarčič (XRAY).

After the lunch break we started the final runs, with both 1/10 Touring classes driving 5min heats, while F1 8min and 1/8 GT long 10min heats.
In F1 class Alojzij Osvald (XRAY X1/REDS/REDS) transformed his TQ in 2 consecutive wins, which already decided the winner. For the 2nd position it was a fight between Borut Svoljšak (XRAY X1) and De Vecchi. At the end 2nd place went to Borut Svoljšak, while last podium place went to Roberto De Vecchi.

In the 1/10 Touring Stock 13.5 class it was a dominant Rok Rudl (XRAY T4/REDS) taking wins in the first two finals, which declared him the winner. In 2nd place it was Massimo Gratton and 3rd was Gašper Ravbar.

The class 1/10 Touring Modified provided some drama in the finals since TQ setter Alojzij Osvald encountered some technical issues which prevented to see a fight with Andrea Ghilotti. So, at the end the winner was Andrea Ghilotti, 2nd went to Alojzij Osvald who luckilly got the 2nd place after technical issues during all 3 final rounds prevented him to challenge for the win. He was also helped by the error on the last lap by Matej Miklavec who broke his car while in the lead. Matej finally took the last podium place.

1/8 Electric GT class provided the most thrilling final runs. Because of so hot conditions materials were put under extreme stress. And since the finals were 10min long drivers had to makea good strategy of driving. At the end the winner was Rok Pongrac â“ very fast and consistent and with good electrical equipment. He was followed by Jan Pernarčič and Sašo Kramljak.

It was a very nice event with a friendly atmosphere and some great battles.
