The first week-end of the Swiss championship was held at the MORC OberbĂĽren. The weather was great and there were 36 drivers taking part at both races. The whole track had changed to various artificial surfaces because of problems with dust for the neighbors. This produced a very fast and challenging layout. Thanks to many jumps it was still fun for us off-road drivers, but it was very easy to make a mistake on the high-grip surfaces for which our cars aren't really built. Tire wear was also a big problem.

Having won the first ever championship in 1/8 electric buggy last year I was looking forward to the race and a chance to defend my title. I built a very on-road style setup and it worked very well from the beginning, with only some small changes here and there. During the qualifying rounds on Saturday I even managed 2 TQs but in the end Patrick Hofer our international star driver was a bit faster and started from pole.
During the 3 A-Finals on Saturday I couldn't really pressure Patrick and Kevin Zwahlen put some pressure onto me from behind, even finishing A2 in front of me. We had some great duels for second place. My teammate Romeo Grass also showed what he can do and came second at A3.

On Sunday for the second round it was almost exactly the same story, but Kevin won the last A-final where Patrick didn't drive after another great battle with me and this meant he would take second place today even though I had beaten him in A1 and A2. I was still very happy to get a double podium at the first week-end of the electric championship.
