Race report by Aaron Dexter
The club did an amazing job of cleaning it up and running an awesome event all weekend, the track came up amazing!

At the conclusion of practice, my car felt solid and I was very comfortable going into qualifying. I didn't have the greatest first round of qualifying, making too many silly mistakes throughout the run. Round 2 was much better, I managed to get in a reasonably clean run and a top 3 for the round. For round 3, I decided to make a setup change to try and get my car to feel more stable as the track was beginning to form big bumps and ruts. I also changed tyres to AKA Super Soft Enduros which I ran the rest of qualifying.

Round 3 went well, not making any mistakes but getting caught up with some back markers, I fell short of the TQ by a couple of seconds. Round 4 was my best run of qualifying. I had a flawless run and managed to TQ the round. Round 5 I once again fell short by a couple of seconds, having a few wobbles here and there. Qualifying at the WACC goes on laps and timing, not on points. As I had managed three fast 12 laps runs throughout qualifying, I managed to get the overall TQ by 0.005 seconds over 36 laps! This would place me 1st in a Semi final.

I was extremely confident going into finals day. I knew I had the speed and consistency, all I had to do was put it together. After a good battle with Kyle Francis, I managed to win my semi final which would put me 2nd on the grid for the 40 minute A Main, missing the pole position by only 5 seconds.

I decided to run the AKA Long-Wear Super Soft Double Downs in the 40 minute final. They were the bomb! A lot faster through the corners than the Enduros. Pole starter Brady Piggot and I pulled away from the pack early and begin to battle. He would make a couple of mistakes and I would pull away. A few mistakes here and there would drop my lead to as much as 2 seconds but I managed to pull out to a 20 second lead before having a couple of silly mistakes again within the laps bringing 2nd place Kyle Francis closer than I would have liked. I mananged to win the 40 minute A Main at Rd2 of the WACC by 13 seconds.
