The 3rd round of the Swiss championship took place last weekend on the astro trakc of Team Kaiju in Harkingen. Due to the rain we had to postpone the race to Sunday. Surely a good decision because the safety of drivers and marshals would not have been guaranteed in view of flying tents, etc ..
On Sunday, the wind was no longer an issue and rainy sky changed to sunshine. The constantly changing track conditions made it difficult to find the appropriate setup especially in the 2WD.
With the XB4, setup was easier because the car always works very well. Only the tires had to be adapted to the respective conditions. Both Florian and Nico made it clear that victory would only go to one of them. And as always in the last time the race was over the full distance and the third final had to bring the decision with the better end for Florian as he won in front of Nico and Philip Jeisy in 3rd place.
Nico and Florian bet on the Dirt version of the XB2 in 2WD. This was a clear advantage on the wet track as the car is much easier to drive thanks to more traction. With a good tire strategy and a few adjustments to the setup, the lap times were good, even in the dry.
So Nico could get the TQ and Florian starting position 4 in the A - final. Nico won the first two rounds and thus the race. Florian made it to third place with a win in the 3rd final.
A big thank you goes to the club Team Kaiju. The food was great and no one can affect the weather! It´s a shame such a beautiful track has to give a way to a construction project.
