Report by Alexander Hagberg
The 3rd round of the ETS was held on the weekend of 19-20 September, after a 6 month hiatus, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The venue was the newly built asphalt track of Arena33 in Andernach, Germany. The entries were capped to 200, which made for a lot of track time, and competitive racing in all classes. The XRAY team was in full attendance, with hopes to secure good points for the overall championship!

In the Pro Stock class, it was Alexandre Duchet who put his XRAY T4'20 on the top qualifying spot, after a superb drive. The Danish young gun Kevin Nielsen actually came super close to taking the overall TQ as well, after just missing out on 1st in the opening qualifier. But because of the extremely close points/tie breaks, he had to settle for 5th. Lukas Ellerbrock and Tim Benson (who bumped up) made it 4x XRAY T4'20 cars in the competitive A-final!

In the finals, Duchet was able to take two tone to tone wins in A1 and 2, with some flawless driving, winning the event! Kevin showed superb pace in the finals, especially after changing back to his qualifying set of tires, but he just couldn't find a way past the drivers in front, and eventually finished 4th, shy of what would have been a deserved podium!

Congratulations also to Caspar Morgen from Denmark, who took the runner up spot in the competitive 40+ TC category! Caspar took a win in A3, which awarded him the well deserved 2nd position!

The stacked modified class saw Bruno Coelho and myself lining up 4th and 5th after qualifying. This is also how we finished after the finals. Bruno showed a blistering pace in practice, and in Q1 and 2, but just missed out on the top spots with very small margins. We were missing just a bit of pace to be able to challenge for the win this time, but I am sure that we will be back on top once the ETS moves indoors again next month!
