The second and last round of 1/8 offroad Czech Nationals for 2023 took a place last weekend in Terezin. It was rainy on Thursday before the race, as well as Friday morning, which ultimately promised a nicely watered track for Friday afternoon practice and everyone enjoyed the good grip.
On Saturday morning we started qualifying, where I was able to secure the pole position in both classes – Nitro and Ebuggy. Jan Horacek lined up 2nd and Jan Hujer 3rd in nitro, whereas Dominik Vlasek was 2nd and Jan Domansky 3rd in Ebuggy class. The club watered the track before every run, so depending on how much it dried up, we had to adjust to the changing conditions.
In the 45-minute Nitro main final I was able to make a solid lead and kept my first position until the finish line in front of Jan Hujer and Jan Horacek, finally taking the overall win as well as the overall championship!
In Ebuggy finals I had nice close fights with Dominik for the win, but I was able to hold on to my starting position and take the overall win in the end, in front of Dominik and Jan Domansky. This also meant I won in the overall championship rankings!
As this was the final round, overall prize giving ceremony took place as well. I was crowned the Czech National champion for 2023 in both classes, for the fifth time in a row! Jan Hujer took overall 2nd place and Jiri Benes 3rd place in Nitro, while Dominik Vlasek finished 2nd and Jan Domansky 3rd in Ebuggy.
